Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I know this is the worst time possible to ask, right before
that long awaited January Pay Day! But I’m doing a charity walk this weekend
with my friends Peter and Marie for their daughter Matilda who sadly died in
July last year.

The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity is a national charity in the United Kingdom that provides support to anyone affected by the death of a baby.

We are walking 13 miles as part of a team this Saturday as part of
the Action Challenge Winter Walk 2023.

I have been friends with Pete since we were both 5 years
old. He and his Wife Marie are both wonderful people who work at Queens
Hospital in Romford. On the 13th of July last year they were told that due to complications Matilda, their daughter had died. This is a terrible
thing for anyone to go through, and to me it seems exceptionally cruel that it happened to 2 genuinely good and decent people. Their strength through this time has left me awestruck. I’m also incredibly proud (but not remotely surprised) they are using their grief as a fuel  raise money to support other parents going through the same thing, unfortunately this is a far more common occurrence than most people think.

Would be grateful if anyone can throw a few quid(or Dollars
or Euros or anything!) in for Matilda. I know her death affected me hugely as a
friend, I can’t even begin imagine the grief parents go through.
