Story
On the 17th October 2018, Pauline Knowles passed away suddenly at the age of 50.
Not only was Pauline one of the shining stars of Scottish theatre, she was also my Aunty.
Such was the impact she had on Scottish theatre, her colleagues, family and friends, with the support of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, set up a scholarship fund in her name.
The scholarship supports Scottish or Scotland-based BA Acting students throughout their training and helps relieve the burden of the expenses of a Higher Education degree.
I'm running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 30th May to raise funds for the scholarship.
I'm not really a runner, so this will be a challenge for my heavy feet and chocolate knees.
But I wanted to do something to in memory of my Aunty Pauline and help support Scottish students in realising their ambitions.
I'm aiming to raise £2,000, which would support a student for one year of their course.
It's going to be tough, but I can already hear her whispering in my ear 'why are you slowing down, get your backside moving'....
