Story
In 1964, my grandfather, Dr Fred Hanna, founded the Cobalt
Unit after his wife died of cancer. He did this to raise money for a new cancer treatment centre so other people wouldn't have to suffer as my grandmother did. The full story is here -

The Cobalt Unit today now scans, researches and treats cancer. Incredibly, some 65,000 people each year are now scanned by the Cobalt Unit.
Unfortunately, however, all of his children went on to have cancer, with this awful disease taking the life of his daughter, my wonderful Auntie Gill shortly before he himself died.
So, in memory of our grandfather and to support a cause that is dear to us, a bunch of his relatives are running 21km next Sunday morning (14th October). After classic middle-aged man injuries, and so not nearly as much training as I had hoped, it will be painful!
Thank you for reading this far, I would love whatever support (no matter how small) you are able to give.
PS.. if you have read this far and wonder about the photo. It is my dog Pip. who refuses to run with me!
