Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon 2019 · 3 March 2019 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

I started running as a aid to lose weight. At 23 stone my health was going down hill and I struggled to get up the stairs. On my 39th Birthday I decided that it was time to make a change. I didn't want to be fat and 40! I Started out slowly only running for a few seconds at a time but soon started to notice a difference and the weight started to come off and the distances went up. To date Iv lost nearly eight stone and discovered a love for the sport on the way. Im proud to say that I went from zero to half marathon in only 15 months! I did the Peterborough half marathon last October and as soon as I finished I started to look for another challenge. Places are very limited but I was lucky enough to secure a place in the Cambridge half marathon along with my running buddy Carly vine. As a Peterborough united fan I really wanted to run in a posh shirt as Cambridge are a local rival, i'm sure this will get me noticed!

I will be raising funds for Peterborough United selected charity The Nspcc. Please give what you can and wish me luck!
