Story

This year on April 4th I have decided to take part in Leeds RAG's Bike-to-Berlin event.

This event is an extremely difficult challenge (especially for someone who prefers travelling by car.) That involves cycling from the Parkinson Steps at Leeds University all the way to the Brandenburg Gate in the German capital, a total of 560 miles (and a ferry crossing via Hull) in just 8 days. This year, the charity the event is supporting is One in a Million - a charity based in Bradford that works with children from some of the most deprived areas in the U.K., helping them develop social skills and attain educational qualifications for a better life. You can see what how the money we will be raising helps at http://www.oneinamillion.org.uk/

I will be completing this task with another 47 cyclists all of whom will be moaning about saddle sore and how pear shaped their cheeks have gone. I am really looking forward to this challenge and am trying to raise at least £300 for charity. A small proportion of this total will contribute to the running costs of Leeds RAG, a student-run charity organisation that raises more than £200,000 a year for a wide variety of causes. The ride is expected to raise more than £12,000 this year.

I know times are tough, but I will be enormously grateful for any donation, no matter how large or small!

Thanks a lot for reading this essay; I shall keep you updated with how well training goes.
