Derbyshire Portway · 9 September 2020

Every day of the year, your local air ambulance (Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of five rescue missions a day. We receive no government funding for our daily missions. Your support keeps us flying.

Story

My son and I started to walk the Derbyshire Portway (from Nottingham to Glossop) across the Pennines, on a route not normally used, in the aftermath of a TV program by Tony Robinson and reading a book on the same subject.

Whilst out in the wilds we have realised how potentially vulnerable we are from even a simple fall in a remote location and how important the air ambulance service might be - not just for us but for anyone else under similar circumstances.  So, not just walkers but cyclists, climbers, cavers, motorcyclists - indeed anyone who ventures out anywhere beyond the fringes of our towns.

Therefore, our immediate target of £1700 is to raise the money for JUST ONE MISSION!  Please help.
