Barnabas Safe and Sound is a small charity based in Morpeth which is dedicated to giving young people across Northumberland a place to call home. That could be through access to safe housing and opportunities, workshops and activities or simply spaces to just be themselves. 

Being a young person isn't a crime. Behind the sleepy market towns and picturesque beaches are the 'hidden young people' of Northumberland. Young people who need need support, guidance and someone to believe in them - that's where Barnabas Safe and Sound come in. Their vision for the future is one where young people are a valued and celebrated part of local communities and with further investment and community support they hope to the development a community hub specifically for young people, a place they can call their own, strengthening their identity within the local community – offering chill out zones, learning and development spaces, and vital supported accommodation for vulnerable young people experiencing housing crisis. 

This is an exciting project which will change the outlook for many local young people right here in Northumberland.
