On October 9th, I successfully completed the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. The event comprises a 2.4 mile (3.8 km) sea swim, a 112 mile (180 km) cycle and 26.2 mile (42.2 km) marathon across challenging lava-covered terrain in what proved to be extremely hot and windy conditions.
