The Fragile X Society is the only charity dedicated to individuals and families living with Fragile X syndrome - the most common cause of inherited learning disability. We are continually working to improve the quality of life for all people impacted by Fragile X.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This charity is very personal to me. Fragile X Syndrome is the most common cause of inherited intellectual disability and the most common genetic cause of autism and autism spectrum disorders, but before Harrison was diagnosed, I had never heard of it. The Fragile X Society gave me support and information at a difficult time allowing us to make informed, educated decisions to give Harrison the best possible future.
So, in order to raise some money for them and raise awareness for FXS I am going to ride my bike up Mont Vonteux in France. Those of you who know anything about my training will appreciate that anything over a 5 rep range is an endurance event for me, so dragging my arse to the top of Mont Vonteux is a big challenge. Any sponsorship will be greatly appreciated. But more important than that, take 5 minutes to read about Fragile X Syndrome and other learning disabilities.
‘'It must be difficult for my son when he so intensely sees, hears and feels everything around him. we all get overloaded at times - sometimes everything is overwhelming. just think, that's how it is for a child with fragile x syndrome - 24 hours a day''
