Chris's Marathon run from Retford to his nans for a cup of tea

Retford to nans for a cup of tea · 9 August 2020
NHS staff and volunteers are doing amazing work right now in caring for COVID-19 patients.Together, let's show our respect and gratitude as they work tirelessly in the face of the virus. It's our turn to make sure we look after them, to ensure they can keep doing their vital work.
On 9th August 2020 I am going to tackle my old nemesis ... running a marathon. I will be running from Retford to the Stag at Rotherham for a well deserved cup of tea with my old nan. And definitely for a beer at my old watering hole, the stag pub after (if it is open of course after quarantine).
I will keep you updated throughout my training and there will be a live stream video by Alice of me running the marathon, where you can all watch. I will be running the full 26.2 miles, no less. Health and safety has been taken into consideration. Alice (my girlfriend) will be providing the refreshments and my mother will be there for first aid (if needed). The marathon finish time will be officially recorded on strava.
COVID-19 has come as a complete shock to everyone and it has taken its toll on the NHS. The NHS is close to my heart, as my mother, step father, girlfriend and a lot of other people close to me, work for the NHS. My mother and step father were both ITC nurses and I know how challenging the job can be without the corona virus. The NHS have been doing an amazing job and keeping it together for us all.
Please help me to raise money to support the NHS at this tough time. Any donation no matter how big or small will help the NHS during this pandemic. 100% of the donations will go to the NHS, not a penny less.
