Leeds Half Marathon 2011 · 8 May 2011 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After last year when did the Silverstone Half Marathon and did it in an impressive time (for me anyway since I'm not a runner) of 2hr 26min I have decided to run again and this time I want to push myself and try and do it under 2 hours! Also Leeds has a few hills on the course so it is a little harder than Silverstone!

The most important thing about this run isn't me trying to beat last year's time, it is to raise money! Again I am running for the Alzheimer's Society! It is a great charity and one that is very important too me!

I will be running for my Grandad who is in a nursing home with Alzheimer’s and also for my Nanny who died of Alzheimer’s over 13 years ago! Alzheimer's is an awful condition to leave with and causes dementia and it doesn't just affect the person with it, but their whole family. It's so upsetting seeing this happen to my Grandad and for it to already have happened to my Nanny!

So please dig deep and donate now, any amount will be amazing, no matter how small!

Thank you!
