I am doing something to justify my asking you to donate - which is my forthcoming trip to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in February 2010, which is frighteningly close! I am paying for every single penny of my trip myself, and so you can rest assured that every donation goes straight to the charity, which is why I am doing it this way via Justgiving.com.

Bowel Cancer is a horrible illness and a killer. My mum contracted it, and had extensive colonoscopy to remove the tumourous growths. She was given the all clear twelve months later, but the cancer returned and she sadly succumbed to it in the end. She passed away in April of 2000.

I have never gone and done something worthwhile to raise money for charity before, and this is my chance. I am not the sort to wave a begging bucket in people's faces, and so I want this to be low key. If you care about giving money to a good cause however, then please tell your friends and/or family if you feel strongly about this and point them to this site please. Gift aid increases the amount of your donation too by 28%, so make sure you tick the appropriate button when you donate!
