2022 sees me take on 2 of my most challenging and exciting endurance events as I head towards my 50th year! Whenever I take part in these type of events, I always draw on memories of my mum who passed away 11 years ago following a long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. She showed my true determination. And I want to continue to remember her by raising funds to help others with MD. 

First up, on the 3rd June, I’m aiming to run (continuous) 145miles from Birmingham to London as part of the iconic Grand Union Canal Ultra. This will  double my previous longest run - and in fact I’ve not cycled that far either! This is my biggest challenge ever - and probably the first time I’ve had doubts over whether I can finish an event!

In October I will fulfil a life time dream of competing at the Ironman World Championships in Kona Hawaii! Qualification for this event was one of the highlights of my sporting career. I plan to certainly enjoy it - but equally an Ironman in the Hawaiian  heat,  humidity and wind will not be easy!
