I will be taking part in this year’s Ultra X Jordan (previously the Wadi Rum Ultra) this October, in the land of Lawrence of Arabia, where I will be attempting to run 250k in 5 days, passing historic sites, dramatic wadis and running over magnificent sand dunes in temperatures up to 34°C.

I will be running this ultramarathon on behalf of Stepnell’s corporate partners, Emmaus UK, to support the incredible work they do to help people to work their way out of homelessness. Emmaus UK is a homelessness charity with a difference – they don’t just give people a bed for the night, they provide them with support, meaningful work and training in their social enterprises, a sense of belonging and a stable home for as long as they need it.

The stark statistic is that on average most people in the UK are only two and a half pay cheques away from facing homelessness and with soaring energy costs and inflation, this will be exacerbated.

Emmaus UK currently supports more than 850 people who have experienced homelessness, and the funds raised from this challenge will go towards helping Emmaus reach their goal of providing a home to 1,100 people by 2025.
