Story

Following on from the Man Vs Mountain last year (Snowdon), my dad, two brothers and I have decided to take on a once in a lifetime challenge and tackle Mount Kilimanjaro.

The Charity

Many people have been affected by Cancer in one way or another and my family is no different.

Candlelighters support families facing children's cancer in Yorkshire, with an aim of helping ordinary families who are facing extraordinary circumstances.

Living in Yorkshire and being a parent myself, this is a cause I truly feel passionate about and will use that as my main motivation (particularly when I'm half way up the mountain) in my attempt to raise awareness and funds for this very worthy cause.

The Challenge

At approximately 5895m (19,341ft) Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain and said to be the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

We're undertaking a 7 day trek, following the Lemosho Route, hoping to reach the summit after a 14-18 hour trek on day 6.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and read this story. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Chris
