Like many people my life has been touched many times by people facing cancer.  When I was younger the outcomes often weren't great, but increasingly people are beating cancer through advances in diagnosis, treatment and support.

There are many individual charities engaged in the fight against cancer in many ways, but all of them are helped through education.  An educated population is aware of symptoms and issues, and educated scientists are pushing back the boundaries on approaches to treatment every single day.

As a governor at our kids old school I want to help them develop people who can contribute to bringing forward the inevitable defeat of this disease.  Specifically, the school is trying to raise funds in support of a new 6th form centre.
