Channel Swim · 24 July 2006
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I will be taking on the English Channel as a member of Team Baywatch Kamurasi on either the 26th or 27th August. In doing this, we will be going head to head with the more than cold and less than clean water, not to mention jellyfish, basking sharks and raw sewage.
The swim is in aid to the Kamurasi Primary School Project in Uganda. This is one of many fundraising initiatives we will be running over the next year, which we are hoping will allow us to raise £25,000 to build a boarding house / learning skills cente for physically handicapped children.
This is a great cause and and is targeted at the physically disabled population of Africa, who have in many cases been overlooked by international aid.
Please please please support me in this in any way you can, It is all greatly appreciated!!!!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Farmers Overseas Action Group will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks in advance for your support.
(n.b. - Please note quote from Marine Biologist Dr Vicki Howe on recent sightings of Great White Sharks on the coast of UK mainland http://www.24dash.com/content/news/viewNews.php?navID=58&newsID=8657 “it was unlikely that predatory sharks would stray into shallower waters, unless they were following food sources”)
Kind Regards
Chris ‘food source’ Burr
