Growing up on a farm in rural Ireland, and encountering big, powerful machinery from a young age, I consider myself very lucky that none of my own family have been the victims of farm accidents - which may arise from the wide array of dangers that present themselves from day-to-day on the farm - leading to life-changing injury or even death.

However, this is not the case for many farming families across Ireland and accidents continue to be quite a prolific occurrence within the farming community - meaning that a lot of us, including myself, know someone who has been either directly or indirectly impacted. The loved ones of victims are often left in a very difficult place as they try to piece back together their lives while coming to terms with the consequences of such an event.

This is where the support of Embrace FARM steps in.

Embrace provide long-term support for the families of those involved in farm accidents which can sometimes be fatal, but in many instances cause injuries which can have a profound affect upon victims. Families can be left in disarray as they try to cope with suddenly being plunged into emotional trauma and stress following a farm accident.

The service provided by Embrace FARM in these cases is therefore invaluable and I believe it is extremely deserving of any financial aid which it receives from fundraisers such as this one my brother Bryan and I have set-up and are really hopeful will be a success.
