Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year my 9 year old daughter, Grace, for months suffered with chronic diarrhoea, stomach cramps, weight loss and lack of energy prior to her diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis which is a life long illness with no cure.

Following diagnosis, medication and support from the charity CICRA (Children with Crohns & Colitis) Grace has put on weight, rarely has cramps and is almost back to her normal bouncy self although she will remain on medication for the rest of her life.

As this is a life long illness we all realise that not just medical but also emotional support will be required for many years to come and as such I felt an obligation to support the charity where I can.

Man vs Lakes is classed as one of the most difficult marathons in the country as 90% of it is off road over the hills in Cumbria. I have never ran a marathon before so I think this is a good challenge to start with!

I am primarily supporting CICRA however St. James's Place have promised to double match any money I raise for CICRA and put this towards their own Foundation which supports various other children's charities and this is an opportunity not to be missed. If I raise £1,000 for CICRA then St. James's Place will donate a further £2,000 to the SJP Foundation.
