Make 2nds Count is dedicated to making people living with secondary breast cancer count. We do this by raising funds to support specialist research into secondary breast cancer, extending and improving the quality of life for patients battling against this treatable yet incurable disease.

Story

A chance discussion with my colleague Craig Duff (where we agreed it would be nice to do something challenging outside of work for a change) led to the slightly rash decision to enter Race to the Stones this year. Tim Adams soon gamely signed up, and we recently stumbled over the line of our first 50km "training" Ultra Marathon.

So on 8th July we'll be setting off from Oxfordshire to run/walk the 100km to Avebury Stone Circle, in support of a fantastic charity - Make 2nds Count.

Secondary breast cancer is breast cancer which has spread from the breast to other parts of the body. Although secondary breast cancer can be treated, there is no cure. Unlike those living with primary breast cancer, there is no end of treatment, there is no remission. It’s estimated that 35,000 people are currently living with secondary breast cancer in the UK yet only 7% of the National funding for cancer goes towards this incurable disease. Make 2nds Count aim to address this imbalance.

Any support is hugely appreciated as we try to get our frankly broken bodies ready to complete this challenge.
