Updates On My Progress At The Bottom

I have signed up to swim the equivalent of the English channel to help the Charity ASPIRE, the national spinal cord injury charity, they have invited swimmers young and old from across the United Kingdom to take part in their annual ASPIRE Channel Swim.

This popular event takes place between Monday 17th September and Sunday 9th December 2007 - however instead of freezing in the Channel - I like all people taking this challenge are clocking up the equivalent distance of the Channel (22 miles) in the warmth and comfort of my local swimming pool.

My local pool which is the Empress Pool In Chatteris is 18 meters in length.
So I have got to swim 1967 lengths in under ten weeks !. I start this Thursday (27th September) and will add a progress meter.

For more information please visit Aspire Channel Swim

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ASPIRE will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please dig deep and sponsor me online !

Many thanks for your support.

UPDATES
September 27th - First day today and it was hard work , though managed to swim 71 laps - I need to achieve 200 laps a week minimum to do it , so am aiming for 70 laps per visit and to go three times a week. Setup a page with photos from my lap counter watch where I will put a picture of the laps per swim as evidence.
