We’re creating lasting change for millions of people with disabilities in some of the world’s poorest places. We work alongside people with disabilities, their families and communities, making sure they have access to healthcare, education and a future where they can thrive.

Story

In October this year my brother, Mike, and I will be climibing to Mount Everest Base Camp to raise money for CBM UK.

The trip is privately funded, so 100% of the money you donate will go to the charity.

CBM UK is an overseas disability charity, bringing medical care, rehabilitation and advocacy to those suffering with a range of disabilities in some of the poorest parts of the world.

The money raised from this trek will go specifically to supporting the work of two eye hospitals in Nepal, at Lahan and Biratnagar. They specialise in providing cataract operations: as little as £20 can pay for an adult's cataract operation; or £90 for a child's. In 2010 alone, these hospitals performed around 85,000 operations on people who otherwise would have gone without their sight.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So please dig deep and donate now.
