Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

As many of you know over the last couple of years and since I have stopped playing football, I have really got into my road cycling and cover between 60 and 100 miles a week on average.

I have been recording my rides on Strava and the competitive streak in me has seen me push myself to the point of almost being sick on a regular basis, all in the pursuit of King of the Mountain trophies.

Thankfully, some of my friends have also taken up cycling and together we have decided to take part in our first competitive race.

As mentioned on the main profile we'll be cycling 106 miles from Marazion, around the far west of Cornwall, back to St Ives and heading back to The Lizard, Helston and ending back where we started.

We decided that we'd like to channel our efforts towards a good cause so will be raising money for The British Heart Foundation.

Some of my teammates have been affected either directly or indirectly by heart-related health issues and last year my dad, the fittest and most healthy man for his age you'll ever meet, spent a month in hospital and underwent a major operation to repair his heart. It was a real scare for all of us and the reason I'm wanting to raise money for this worthy cause.

More about The British Heart Foundation below.

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
