Buxton Mountain Rescue carry out some fantastic work in the Peak District rescuing those in need. I chose Buxton Mountain Rescue as my Grandad Peter Farrer was a member of the team for over 40 years and gave so much of his time to help those who were in need. Grandad was then honoured with an MBE for services to Mountain Rescue and over the years has made us all extremely proud!

Much to his friends/fellow team members amusement, only a few years ago on a quiet Tuesday morning Grandad needed rescuing himself after having a slip on his way down from Kinder Scout. It just goes to show that no matter how experienced you are and how much time you've spent in the outdoors, you never know when you might need the team!
