The Baby Beat provides funding for the Sharoe Green Maternity Unit to ensure babies born within our community have the very best monitoring equipment during pregnancy and delivery. We also support research into stillbirths and premature labour in addition to bereavement support.

Story

This year my niece Martha would have been five years old, but sadly she was only with us for a few days.

In her memory, as long as injury doesn't stop me, I'm aiming to run 12 events or more, and to run at least 1200 miles before the end of the year.

So far, I plan to run a half marathon at Crieff on 10 Feb, a 27 mile trail run at Bamburgh on 23 Feb, a half marathon in Inverness on 10 March, a night trail run in the Borders on 16 March, a half marathon in Angus on 14 April, another at Loch Leven on 11 May, Man vs Coast on 6 July, Man vs Lakes on 20 July, Man vs Mountain on 7 Sep, and the Great North Run the next day. I plan to add more as the year goes.

While she was with us Martha was looked after brilliantly by the people at Sharoe Green maternity ward supported by Baby Beat who made sure that her parents and her brother could spend as much time with her as possible. If you can, please help to raise money to support their work in the future.
