Story
On Sunday 23rd of April 2023, I will be running the London Marathon to raise much needed funds for a fantastic local charity, Hospice of The Good Shepherd.
The Hospice provides invaluable palliative care and support for patients and their families across Cheshire, Ellesmere Port and Deeside. The incredible team have touched the lives of so many in the local area, ensuring that patients have access to the specialist support that they require at the most difficult of times. My partners late mother, Christine spent her last days at the Hospice after a battle with cancer. Faye & family will never forget the kindness and warmth that they experienced from the care team and the Hospice will always hold a special place in their heart.
In order to raise the £4 million required to run the Hospice on an annual basis, the in house fundraising team work tirelessly, generating revenue via a range of exciting events and initiatives. I have seen the level of effort and dedication that goes into this first hand as one of my closest friends, Justin, has led the fundraising team for a number of years. Volunteers also play an important role for the Hospice and my Auntie Anne can sometimes be found helping out on reception.
I'm really excited to take on the challenge of the London Marathon in 2023 and very proud to be raising money for such a worthwhile cause. Any donations for the Hospice will be gratefully received.
Many thanks :)
