Christian's IRONMAN Cairns page

Hi Guys,
On June 6th I will be taking part in the Cairns IRONMAN. For those of you wondering what on earth an Ironman is? It’s basically a long old triathlon: 3.8km swim followed by a 180km bike ride and a 42.2km marathon run to finish (sounds fun). Taking place in tropical North Queensland temperatures are expected to be in the 30’s making this one hot old day in the office.
But why bother I hear you ask? Well in taking part in the race I’m hoping to raise money for Parkinson’s U.K. This is a charity very close to mine and my family’s hearts, my late Poppa had Parkinson’s and in the last 12 months my Dad has also been diagnosed.
As Parkinson’s is primarily a disease of movement I’m hoping by swimming, biking, running, (shuffling, hobbling and even crawling) my way to the finish line I can raise some money for Parkinson’s U.K. This fantastic charity provides support for those affected by the condition as well as funding pioneering research to advance new treatments and therapies.
I know this has been a really tough year for everyone but any donation would be massively appreciated and will really spur me on during the race!
Please feel free to share this post.
Much love
Christian
