Hero Paws supports all services that employ working dogs, from Military and Police to civilian sectors. We offer an unbiased process that aids all dogs to retire whether that be from failed training, unable to meet their current training standards or they have come to the end of their service.

Story

Hero Paws provides military dogs and service dogs with a happy retirement through rehabilitation and retraining. They are a fairly new, local charity run by three ex military dog handlers who know exactly how to help and turn these dogs around. I wanted to do the three peaks challenge this year with my dog (Narla) and my Dad (Paul) as he is turning 50! and this charity really pulled at my heart strings when i was researching and talking with them on the phone so please take a minute to have a look and help to support us if you can.

Their ultimate goal is to set up a sanctuary where ex working service dogs can be cared for and trained so they can eventually find their perfect forever home or they can live out their lives happily without getting euthanized after everything they have done over seas.

Many people are unaware that retired service dogs do not receive financial support in their retirement from the force they served with, meaning the responsibility for their care and vet bills fall solely to their ex-handler or new owner. Unable to get pet insurance due to their working life, many are left with ongoing vet bills which can amount to thousands. Hero Paws provides much needed financial support to these unsung dog heroes and their owners to enable them to have a long and happy retirement.

We will be doing the challenge at the beginning of September to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales all in 24 hours, starting at Ben Nevis, then down to Scafell Pike and finishing at Snowdon.

Thank you for taking the time to read and any support is hugely appreciated by us all.
