Story
On New Year's Eve 2012, my Mum passed away. She had breast cancer. Throughout the time of her illness, my Mum stayed positive and hopeful, and so did I. The incredible care and dedication of all our family, friends, neighbours, doctors, nurses, palliative care workers and taxi drivers (for the frequent rides to radiation and chemo) was a huge help to all of us during her illness. I want to run this half marathon to support a charity that offers support to all those dealing with breast cancer, because I know it makes a difference. The race is in May, just a few weeks after my Mum's birthday - this year, she would've been 57.
I've never run a race this big before; I started running in March 2013 and did a 10k in November 2013. I think I can do this. And your support means that my run can carry even more meaning by helping those struggling with breast cancer.
