Story
This weekend I'll be taking on Race to the Stones Ultramarathon . 100km of trail running over 2 days (that's 8km more than a marathon each day.) With a very comfortable night's sleep (in a tent) between the two days of running.
This is by far the most challenging event I've taken on in the last few years (maybe ever...). I'm going to have to dig deep to get myself to the finish line, so would really appreciate your support in fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that exists to improve the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer. TCT work across the UK to make sure young people with cancer get the very best care and support, no matter where they are. They receive no government funding and so rely on voluntary donations. It costs between £500,000 and £3,500,000 depending on the nature, size and location to build and equip a new unit. TCT fund front line staff such as Youth Support Co-ordinators and Nurse Consultants. They also make sure units include everything young people need to be kept occupied and entertained whilst being treated.
12 years ago, a close friend of mine lost her battle with cancer after fighting the disease for more than a decade. Corrie was strong, brave and lived her life to the absolute full for her short 22 years. She was a very special young woman who touched many peoples lives - I am very grateful to have known her and she will never be far from my thoughts. Her strength continues to be my inspiration for taking on challenges like this Ultramarathon. The support that the Teenage Cancer Trust provide to many young people suffering from cancer and their families is amazing and I want to do everything I can to help their cause.
Thank you for your generous support.
Love to you all,
