Windsor Trifecta Weekend (Spartan Races 2019) · 5 October 2019 to 6 October 2019 ·

1 in 5 children in the UK are affected by their parents' alcohol problems. They are often frightened and isolated, with no one to turn to for help. Nacoa responds by providing a free, confidential telephone, 1-2-1 chat and email helpline.

Story

So anyone who knows me may or may not know already that I have chosen to run the Spartan Sprint race in Windsor this year. This is to challenge myself physically and mentally whilst raising money for my chosen charity Nacoa, a charity that is very close to my heart.

Many children in the UK alone are affected by their parents drinking, living in silence with nowhere or no one they can turn to for help, advice or even just a listening ear.

This is something I have wanted to do as part of a resolution to raise awareness for Nacoa. I chose the Spartan because ..... why choose something easy right? I chose Nacoa because.... I was one of those children who suffered in silence.

So please help me in spreading the word, please share my page and please donate anything that you can. It’s all about raising money to support a great cause (and also hoping I get through Spartan alive 🙏🏻)  #Aroo 💪🏻

Nacoa (The National Association for Children of Alcoholics) is a Bristol based charity founded in 1990 to provide help and support for everyone affected by a parent’s drinking. We believe that every child has the right to a happy childhood and to live a creative and meaningful life but when drink is the family secret they are more likely to experience family violence, neglect and other problems in their own homes.
