Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday October 12th I will be taking part in The Breeze/British Cycling 100k Lancashire Event, raising funds for CLAPA (Cleft Lip and Palate Association).

CLAPA is a great charity which offers unique, long-term support for children and families affected by clefts.  I recently became re-aquainted with CLAPA when they supported a friend's family.  I know from my own experience as the new parent of a precious newborn with a cleft, just how daunting the prospect of corrective surgery can be.  My son was born in 1979, the year that CLAPA was formed, Kevin's orthodontist was a very kind, and gentle man who was involved in fund-raising for CLAPA - his office was full of photos of all the happy, smiling babies and children he had cared for.
