Story
I have known Patrick and his family for 17 years. We have done many adventures together such as three peaks, GR20 in Corsica, an 1100km cycle ride in France over 13 days and the Autour de Mont Blanc to name a few.
It was devastating to us all when Patrick suddenly went missing in February 2020. He went out cycling as he usually did on a Wednesday but never came home. His wife and two daughters are absolutely devastated and assume that he has taken his life. It is thought that he drowned in the sea near Corfe Castle in Dorset. His bike was found nearby and his rucksack was found on the beach. Despite extensive searches by Dorset Police and the Coastguards, his body has not been found.
The charity 'Missing People' has been a huge comfort to the family and provided so much information. Their help has been invaluable.
In February next year (2021) I will be undertaking an Ultra Marathon (St Peter's Way) to raise money for this charity. I hope to run as much of it as I can but accept there may be a fair bit of walking, limping etc.
As with all charities, this one has suffered from the lack of fundraising opportunities this year caused by Covid-19. Any donation, however large or small, would be very much appreciated and will keep me going during the dark hours towards the end of the challenge.
Thank you so much,
Christine
