Story
It's that time of year...time to
Ride London!
Once again I'll be trekking (well, cycling) through the Surrey Hills on 29 July in order to raise money for our programmes. I am hugely proud of the work that we do at LMF, supporting children from low income families with the ongoing costs of tuition.
At the London Music Fund our vision is simple; that every child who wishes to continue learning is given the opportunity to flourish, regardless of their background. I hope you agree. I wanted to share a bit of a short speech on of our Scholars gave at an event recnetly which I think puts it perfectly:
"Thank you Mr. Mayor and the London Music Fund for helping children like me from a modest background, for allowing us to express ourselves in our music and most of all, for letting us dream. Through my cello I've already experienced some fantastic things. I've been able to go record at Abbey Road Studios with my orchestra. I'm about to continue my musical education at The Royal College of Music Junior Department and from there the future is bright, anything is possible. My next dream and goal is to hopefully be Britain's Young Musician of the Year one day and because of programs like this I am one step closer. Thank you."
