Story
I am delighted to inform you all that on Sunday 21st March 2010 Team Breast Friends & I successfully climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I can say it was the most exhilarating thing I have ever done in my life. A fantastic day that I will always remember.
I would like to say a big Thank You to each & everyone of you who had faith in me to complete the climb, all 1439 steps.
I am well on the way to reaching my target of raising £3000 for this wonderful charity.
PLEASE HELP ME TO REACH THAT MAGIC £3000 target. Give generously. THANK YOU EVERYONE
MY STORY
In October 2005 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. At a time in my life when everything in my life was going well. A loving family, husband and two fantastic children, good job, wonderful home. Then one afternoon I went to the hospital alone thinking a lump I had found was nothing and everything would be fine. Then I was given the news that I had Breast Cancer. This was a devastating blow to me and my family, but by the Grace of God I went through countless visits to the hospital, the surgery, Chemotherapy & Radiotherapy.
My dear friend Veronica was also diagnosed just a few months before me, was a tower of strength to me. We got through together and supported each other.
I joined and became involved with Breast Friends Solihull who have been wonderfully supportive to me and many women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The support group run by volunteers meet once a month at the SIMTR Centre at Spire Hospital, Solihull to assist local women.
Breast Friends Solihull provide practical & financial support in many different ways to fellow sufferers. Wigs, domestic help with cleaning & gardening, Organic vegetables, loan of comfortable recliner chairs and a hardship fund for families in need and psychological support.
Breast Friends has also purchased equipment for both Solihull & Parkway hospitals
Our Co Chairwoman Lynn Bullock had this great idea of the bridge climb and has encouraged us to join her to raise funds for Breast Friends Solihull a charity that is close to our hearts.
PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY AND HELP US TO HELP OTHERS THROUGH THEIR JOURNEY.
