I did it last year and have carried on running since so decided I'd do it again, and hopefully better my time of 58 mins, and also raise lots of money for LUPUS UK. I've signed Melanie up to take part and she won't want her mum to beat her so she'll have to work hard!

I've been working for LUPUS UK for almost 12 years now and in that time have learnt just how debilitating the illness can be for some.  For those who ask "What's lupus?" It's an immune illness, mainly affecting women of childbearing age but men and children can suffer too. Lupus causes the body's immune system to go into overdrive and starts to attack itself. The symptoms are many and varied which gives rise to difficulty in diagnosis. You can find out more on www.lupusuk.org.uk.
