Fundraising for First Days Children's Charity
Story
Magic, sparkles and twinkling stars - Christmas lights are an inspiring piece of the Advent puzzle.
The Christmas Light Trail has been set up to encourage homes in Twyford, Ruscombe, Hurst & Charvil to light up the villages with sparkly lights throughout the month of December and beyond! 🎅🦌☃️
With so many talented and creative people in the village we wanted to share this challenge to spread some joy as we wave goodbye to one of most uncertain years in living memory.
All our twinkly houses will be joined by the THRU Churches who are encouraging villagers to decorate their front windows with lights and scenes telling the Christmas story, whether than be the journey to Bethlehem, the Manger with Mary, Joseph and the animals gathered or the wise men.
Hurst Village are also putting on a window Advent Calendar Display which will be 'revealed' each day throughout December until 24th. The displays will continue to stay lit up until New Year and people can walk around the village and look at the windows. 🏠🏡🏠
A map will be available for people to follow over the festive period with each route clearly labelled. Here’s hoping for dry starry nights, steaming mugs of hot chocolate, and some wonderful nights out!
Although we will not be charging to take part we are asking anyone who would like to donate as a thank you to consider local children's charity First Days.
First Days reduces the effects of poverty on children by providing them everything they need in their early years and at school. They believe all children deserve the same start in life - they help over 2000 children a year who are living in poverty across Berkshire and the UK.
