AFRIL is a dynamic local charity that supports refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to lift themselves out of poverty and rebuild their lives in the heart of our community. Our core projects are: Advice and Advocacy, Food Bank, Rainbow Club Saturday School and Allotment of Refuge.

Story

Hi, I'm Ceri a Food Educator and Chef. When the pandemic hit earlier this year I pivoted my business (after many huge wobbles) from retreat catering to hosting online classes. Hosting weekly classes from the comfort of my home kitchen has been a fantastic way to connect in a year that we've been told to do the exact opposite.

AFRIL (Action for Refugees in Lewisham) are one of the charities supported by my local veg scheme Lee Greens, and after writing about them in the lead up to Christmas (I am their newsletter editor) I was moved to do something more.

So, for my final class of the year, I've decided to spread some festive cheer and raise money for a local charity who would really benefit from the support this time of year.

Come and join me on zoom for a morning of festive fun.
