Dear Friend   I am running a half marathon this weekend raising money for ECIL (Ealing Centre for Independent Living) through Ealing Mencap. I have been working for ECIL now for five years. It is a dynamic organisation mainly run by wonderful volunteers who help disabled children,adults and their parents and carers  to lead a more exciting and varied life. Practical help is offered with money, housing and legal matters. We also have a Para-Carnivalista group which takes part in the Notting Hill Carnival, an Arts and Performing group called Artisticus who have put on self-penned critically acclaimed musicals and shows. All of this work is carried out on a shoe-string. There is virtually no funding...(teachers and enablers do it for the love of it) but transport, costumes and theatre hire are expensive.
