Event: London Marathon 2023, on 23 April 2023

Story

After suffering a stroke in September 2021, I left the British Army and was given the opportunity by the James Paget University Hospital to help support our Armed Forces community both in the hospital and local area. Supported by the dementia, learning disabilities and autism teams we are able to support and find support for those who need it.

We now want to create a safe garden area in one of our court yards for these patients and their families so those that are able to go outside and enjoy some fresh air in a safe space. The money donated will be used to help fund the project and create themed areas. One will be dedicated to our Armed Forces Community and an interactive area for our patients with dementia, learning disabilities and autism.

I will be challenging myself by completing both the London Marathon and ride London with in a matter of weeks. But this is nothing compared to the challenges some of our patients and their families face everyday. Your help will enable us to develop something that may just brighten their day.
