Trekking to Everest Base Camp for INS
We are trekking to Everest Base Camp in the autumn to raise
awareness and Money for a charity called Integrated Neurological Services (INS). INS provides practical support for the people and their carers’ with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), or Stroke. Their services include home visits, therapy groups, education and training, etc. To run such activities and provide free services, it needs courage, determination Motivation and money. The Everest Base Camp trek will require courage, determination, a commitment to train to cope with the altitude and the terrain, and the ability of team members to support each other. To succeed, the trekkers will also need the
support of the experienced and knowledgeable Sherpas and guides on the trek. In much the same way, people living with neurological conditions need courage and determination to deal with the unavoidable changes to their lives. They also need the help of the experienced team at INS to give every individual the skills and strategies that will enable them to cope at each stage of their condition, achieve their full potential and reach their own goals. Through INS they can also meet other people facing similar problems and are able to share solutions and give mutual support. We hope you’ll join us in supporting INS and its valuable deeds.
