London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·
Finished in 03:26:48 beating my previous time by 1hr and 3 minutes, a bit close for comfort. Thanks to everyone for your support, you have been more generous than I could have imagined. I wonder how long before I can use my legs again?
5 years on I am running the London Marathon again. (Thats me in the picture receiving the news, or was it beating the kids at poker.) This time for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, specifically the 'Action on FSH' fund.
Why....
My partner Liz was diagnosed with Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSH), about 10 years ago, a degenerative neuro muscular condition for which there is currently no cure.
Liz volunteers a lot her time to chair a support group (FSH-MD support group UK) which is now receiving the support of a national charity The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. This charity have offered said support group a marathon place to raise funds for the Action on FSH appeal. 100% of the funds raised will go to the appeal. For those who sponsored me in 2009, I know I said I would never ask again so to make amends I am offering a...
MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. If I don't run 1 hour faster than when I was 5 years younger you can request your money back.
100% of the fundraising will go to Action on FSH, and the more you give the better you feel.
