As some of you may know, I am member of Team T.J. Martell, which is an athletic endurance team dedicated to raising funds for cancer research in support of the work of the T.J. Martell Foundation. My brother, Steve Gawley, is the TeamLeader for Team T.J. Martell.
During the past 43 years, the T.J. Martell Foundation has raised more than $280 million dollars for innovative cancer research at flagship hospitals in the United States. Their funding goes to cutting-edge science that turns into clinical trials and new drug discoveries that extend and save lives. They also serve as a critical resource in connecting patients with the doctors theyneed.

My personal goal is to raise $10,000 for the Foundation through my participation in the Hampton’s Run. I well appreciate that each of you support so many worthwhile charities during the course of the year, and I truly appreciate any and all donations. Your tax-deductible contribution will help pay for dearly needed cancer research and support the work of the Foundation in connecting people to the doctors they need.
Cancer, in all its nefarious forms, has unfortunately touched almost all of our lives. In my own life, the loss of my father to cancer in 2014 is a constant personal reminder of how far we still need to go to help fight this insidious disease. So it is an honor to me to be able to support the work of the T.J. Martell Foundation.
