Thank you for visiting our page. In August last year I (Heather) had emergency surgery for a ruptured fibroid that was causing internal bleeding. Four weeks later I found out it wasn't just a fibroid, and I had been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called leiomyosarcoma.
Since then I have had further surgery and a course of radiotherapy. I'm now under 'surveillance' and being monitored with regular CT scans.
Going through a cancer diagnosis was both scary and confusing; Sarcoma UK provided help and support when I most needed it and I'm incredibly grateful for that.
Chris will be running his first full marathon in October (idiot), and has decided to try and raise a bit of money for Sarcoma UK along the way. I'll also be running the York 10 mile, a much less impressive undertaking but still a challenge after everything that's happened over the last year! We'd be ever so grateful if you would consider sponsoring us and donating a few pennies to this important charity.
By supporting us, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.Thank you for your support.
