Story
I'll be doing the TASTE H2O cycling challenge and am looking forward to the challenge. Thank you for your support and please let me know who you are so I can thank you personally.
What ?
The challenge requires us to cover about 180 miles (289 km) in 24 hours.
H - Haringey (in N. London) where the TASTE CEO (Ben Udejiofo) went to school
2...
O - Owlerton (in Sheffield) where the TASTE UK office is located.
When?
We leave for London on 23rd May 7am and plan to depart from Haringey at 12pm.
There is a planned overnight stopover in Leicester for about 6-7 hours.
We aim to arrive at Owlerton in Sheffield on Saturday 24th May at 12pm.
Why?
I've never done a 24 hour bike ride so this will be a personal challenge. At least, there will be a few hours of sleep factored in!
If you decide to support this, do let me know who you are as I would like to send you a personal thank you after I've completed the challenge.
Who is TASTE?
TASTE does a simple job - they drill for clean water in Nigerian villages where women and children still have to fetch polluted water from the river. The benefit to the villages that TASTE helps is huge. Disease and sickness from polluted water is drastically reduced; children don't lose school time fetching water; and women are able to stop being water carriers and focus on a higher quality of life.
£3000 covers all the costs of providing clean water and latrines to a rural community.
