Kasanka Trust is a not-for-profit charity protecting Kasanka National Park in Zambia, stimulating, and sustaining the local economy through its mission of “Tourism for Conservation”. The Trust relies entirely on donor funding and tourism income to run and manage its projects.

Story

We (Christopher Hill & Max Mellor) are cycling (44kms) and
running (10kms) through the African bush competing in The Kasanka Challenge. We'll be on hippo trails and bush tracks with elephants, hippos, crocs, leopards, baboons, bushpigs, porcupines and snakes. If we meet any danger we'll be frantically pedaling and sprinting our way out of it (and yes we are insured!).

We are raising money to secure Kasanka's future (and our local community project) as an independent game reserve and to preserve it's eco-safari philosophy. Kasanka is very reliant on charitable support to maintain its unique eco-safari mix.

The Kasanka Trust (of which Christopher is a trustee) is a uniquely independent charity managing a national game reserve. The game reserve is one of Zambia's smallest at 39,0000 hectares (same size as The Norfolk Broads, or The Three Valleys ski domain) and is home to a wide variety of wild and rare animals, birds and plants all living within many different habitats.
