Chris's Half Marathon for the British Heart Foundation

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·
In April last year I had open heart surgery to repair my heart valve and an aortic aneurysm that had developed. I’d had no symptoms and didn’t have a clue that there was a problem.
Thanks to my amazingly thorough GP and the brilliant surgical care I received, I’ve recovered really well. And so my lovely wife has organised for me to run London’s icon half marathon on Sunday 29th March for the British Heart Foundation. I’m really grateful for the chance to do something positive to mark (nearly) a year on from my operation.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. So more research is needed.
