I joined the Youth for Christ family in Sept 2016 and have since fallen in love with who they are and what they are about. YFC exists to help young people find Jesus, follow him and join his family. We are passionate about the whole person: seeing young people reach their potential socially, educationally, physically and spiritually in Jesus.

YFC works with some of the most disadvantaged, disconnected young people around NI. Our primary tool is the drop-in centre - a safe place in the heart of a community where young people experience a caring community and real Jesus-like love. Our heart is for young people who are on the edge of their community, disengaged from church and faith. We believe in a God who loves these young people and who has the power to see their young lives transformed.

Over the last 8 months I have seen and heard amazing stories of what YFC centres mean to young people, and the way in which God is using them to change whole communities. My job at YFC is to support these centres as they work on the front line and to develop new local youth projects so we can reach even more young people in even more communities.

To help us do this, and to raise awareness of what YFC is all about I will be climbing Donard 7 times in 7 days to celebrate 70 years of YFC in Northern Ireland. 

It won't just be the Chris show though!! Each day I'll climbing with staff or volunteers from one of our centres or projects - the real heroes of YFC - and introducing them to you!
