Being diagnosed with a terminal illness can turn your world upside down. We're here to help people make the most of the time they have left, and provide expert care so that they can die with dignity. Your donation today will help us to be here for people in East London when they need us.

Story

On Sunday 26th September Francis Cullen, Steffi Hertling, Luke Jarvis, Jorge Stride and myself will be running the Hackney Half Marathon in memory of our good friend Lewis James Morgan Baker, who sadly passed away at home this year from a rare form of brain cancer.

Team Lewy’ will be running to raise money for St. Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney, where Lewis has stayed for several periods over the last few years.

The team at St. Joseph’s were most welcoming and warm in their care, and the Hospice facilitated Lewis, his family and friends being able to share some cherished moments during this time, including his wedding day in December 2019.

St Joseph’s Hospice opened in 1905, and since then has been caring for and supporting people affected by serious illness in eight London boroughs. They work to improve the quality of life of more than 2,100 patients with life-limiting conditions each year, helping them live life to the full, to the very last.

To keep their services running they have to raise £19,000 each day, so we’re hoping to raise as much as we can, and every penny is very much appreciated.
