125 people die by suicide in the UK every week. That's not okay. That's why this October, I'm taking part in CALMs Lost Hours Walk, to join people across the country in smashing the silence around suicide. The money I raise will be going towards CALM's life-saving services, so they can be there for anyone struggling, no matter what.
As an introvert, and a bit of a hermit, I didn't think that I would struggle with the concept of working remotely throughout the pandemic. However, the last three years have highlighted just how important it is to get outside and to talk to people, especially for your mental health, and for theirs.
The Lost Hours walk is a great opportunity to get outside, to speak amongst friends, and to help challenge stigmas and stereotypes, all whilst raising vital money to keep CALM's services running.
